The stench of Political dialogue
As relayed on newspapers, the international contact group composed by Malagasy major political actors is on the way to settle an agreement about a consensus charter to run the government under the aegis of the Africans, the same who have failed or who are incompetant to settle their own crisis in the mainland (Sudan,Mauritania,Guinea, now Somalia….). These actors are all affiliated with the former 3 presidents Ravalomanana, Ratsiraka and Zafy Albert including some members of the actual HAT government. What ordinary Malagasy people doesn’t understand is why we have to include these former presidents to the dialogue as if it was a skirmish between these 4 persons not a revolution lead by the people. Some tried to make Malagasy people believe that these persons are the key to all problems. About Zafy Albert, I can’t see clearly what is his implication to the current affair, he is doomed to unpopularity and will never win any elective process, why striving for power. The same with Ratsiraka, he harmed the country for years why his voice is needed ?.And why the dialogue should focus on seats appointment not on the core of the structure like constitution, electoral texts that can ensure a long term stability. It’s like Obama who promised to retrieve Gis from Iraq in order to concentrate them in Afghanistan, the President changes but Bush’s policy of preemptive-preventive unclear war against so-called terrorism still lingers.
The crux of the matter is that the foreigners behind the dialogue don’t want major changes happen that could bring real democracy to the country but rather put fat in the fire, Divide To Rule. The EU presents the country with an ultimatum again with the organization of an hasty election and Andry Rajoelina swallow the bait in his conquest for international recognition though already and widely recognized by all Malagasy, what’s matter the native Malagasy or the Europeans .
Everyone prides himself on thinking for the good of the country, but in reality all of them saw politics not as way to better organising human coexistence in their individual pursuit of happiness but a tool to quench self interests and greed.

Right and exact!
I have been wondering the same thing myself. How did we get from having negotiations with 2 people to having 4? That is something I would like someone to explain because it is counterintuitive to include more than the 2 sides of the crisis, especially when it involves other scorned ex-presidents thirsty for power once again. It all smells of opportunism and greed. Great post!
It’s time for the third voice(silent majority) to stand now.Don’t let the others to decide about our fate.
The solution is I think an entity outside any mainstream political parties.
Thx for the comments guys!
Personally , The only way to put an end to this crisis in Madagascar is the intervention of United Nation army; We didn’t know that Mr. RAJOELINA succeed to get the power because he was backed the military. If Madagascan army remained neutral, the young disc jockey would stay at the independance avenue to claim the resignation of the legal president at the time being. That is an evidence that it was a coup. And I am totally agree with pdt RAVALOMANANA That his only mistake was having neglected the army.
hence , Many of you won ‘t be agree with me but the intervention of UN Military forces is the best solution to eradicate the current government. We all know this guy ’s obstination to remain in power And whatever the solution proposed to him , the condition is that he must stay in power to lead us in so called democratic way ;of course in his own definition of democracy.
Therefore , he won’t to step down unless by force .
Ummmm! I’m a bit dubious about UN force intervention, there are other more worth pending conflicts elsewhere still unsolved. May be the SADEC army can do it but in the combat zone how do they discern who supports Mr DJ and who supports Ra8.In fact you don’t know what war is !
Secondly, don’t forget that there was a revolution lead by Malagasy people (though the real figure is still arguable), it’s not a military coup, but ofcourse everybody has its own definition of the term.
Well,I am not totally with yoiu , as long as madagascar is still member of the UN;Any conflicts our country may face ,we deserve assistance from them. and that time is now , the current regime in Madagascar is illegal. And It is unbelievebable that there are still an unelected president at this time ; do you think that more than 50 percent of madagascan are with andry rajoelina.Definately no, well what was happening is that the minority dominate the majority and take decision for them. That is utterly the contrary of democracy. And that regime should be eradicated and that will not be possible unless the UN interviene.
